My children to this day do not really understand why I cannot come home. Each and every time they visit, when it’s time to leave they cry, which breaks me down on the inside. My children and family no longer trust the police or the justice system, they have experienced firsthand the injustice that has been done to me. I constantly remind them that all police are not corrupted, but it’s hard for them to trust police when I’m still fighting to get out of prison for a crime I am actually and factually innocent of.
