When you’re locked up, pictures are all you have. My father took off when I was 3 years old. I finally met him 25 years later when I was 28. This picture is the only one I have of my mother, father, and me as an adult. You can have fond memories of that time, but there’s so much behind that picture. This picture has a lot of meaning – it represents abandonment and closure. But at the same time, there are still so many unanswered questions.
