“Ready to Shine”

Being sentenced to life behind bars can bring the worst out of some people because you have nothing to lose. For me it was the opposite. It opened my eyes to just how fast a terrible decision can change your path forever. I’ve chosen to not focus on where I am, but who I am. To be the best me that I can. To prepare everyday for the possibility of having another chance at life beyond these walls. In the event that having another chance at life beyond these walls. In the event that time never comes, so be it. But, they won’t be able to say “He wasn’t ready.”
