Being in prison has impacted my family and my community in so many different ways. I know that my neighborhood is a little better than it was when I was out there. I caused so much trouble and did so many things. At the time when I was free, I brought my community down, something I would never do again. My son always asks, “Dad, when are you coming home?” My daughter is really broken by me coming here. She doesn’t understand and feels like I chose the streets over her. To hear her say how she wishes I were there when she needs me makes me cry every time.
