My grandfather Ross Fluery was a WWII veteran, a businessman, and the most solid and loved figure in my life. He had that ‘50’s integrity where a handshake still meant something. Where you always hold your manners for people. Open the door for women, help someone with a flat tire, do the right thing. He was a photographer and after the war he opened his own studio. This photo I am looking at is of him in his suit and tie, looking the part as always. He was my fishing partner, my mentor, my friend and I miss him so much. One of my life’s great regrets is letting him down.
